You are explorers and your great-grandfather was Howard Carter, one of the great explorers of the early 19th century. Howard was renown for finding the tomb of King Tutankhamen (commonly known as the Boy King, or King Tut). But that was not the only tomb he found.

You are out hiking together in sand and rock near the great pyramids when the ground collapses beneath you. You fall through the hole into a chamber. Luckily none of you are hurt. It is obvious that you can't climb back out the way you fell in. You must find another exit. Then you realise, you're in the entry hall of a tomb.
